Warranty
Information

Every battery we supply and install is backed by a manufacturer's warranty. Learn about our warranty claim process, requirements, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty Claim Requirements

If a battery is found to be defective due to a manufacturing fault, it will receive a replacement in accordance with the applicable warranty. Please review the following requirements before lodging a claim:

  • Claims must be lodged within the warranty period from the original purchase date.
  • Valid, dated proof of purchase is mandatory for all warranty claims.
  • The replacement battery warranty commences from the original purchase date, not the replacement date.
  • Customers bear all delivery, collection, and replacement battery costs.
  • To lodge a claim, call 0492 979 067 and email proof of purchase to info@batteryaustralia.com.au.
  • Warranty excludes defects from normal wear, misuse, abuse, accidental damage, neglect, improper storage, overcharging/undercharging, incorrect application, installation, or maintenance failures.
Please note: Roadside service is not covered by the warranty claim. A faulty battery cannot always be determined at first inspection — further testing may be required.

Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Notice

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure.
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
  • A repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Using Electronic Battery Testers

Electronic battery testers provide results but should not serve as the sole, definitive fault determination. Different testers may yield different results based on calibration. Tester results form only one component of our battery testing procedures.

Battery Australia will not accept the results of any tests performed by a third party or outside repairer in determining if a battery product has failed under warranty. We require that we conduct our own tests.

Warranty Claim Exclusions

The following situations are NOT covered under our warranty:

1. Flat battery (discharged)
2. Normal wear and tear
3. Physical damage
4. Undercharging (sulphation)
5. Incorrect application
6. Negligence (before or during use)
7. Over-charging
8. Spillage from overfilling
9. Battery modifications
10. Failures from non-water fluids
11. Motorsport or racing batteries
12. Roadside service costs
Private Use:

Private use applies to vehicles used for personal needs — typically four-wheel vehicles not used for carrying passengers or goods for payment.
